I'm not sure what else to say that isn't already in the profile or elsewhere. Maybe rewording will reveal more ............ I have been transitioning from my self employment as a commercial sign painter into Artisan,vendor, Etsy shop owner.

The growing computer sign industry happened to coincide with my growing weariness of painting commercial signs . I never wanted to get into computer generated signs because I Love hand lettering with a brush. I love creating letters. I love vibrant colors and new color combinations and I love creating designs, layouts and such. I love paint.

I have collected quotes for even longer than I have been a sign painter. The quotes are from books I have read, courses I have taken, and words that have been passed on to me by friends and customers. I make signs that inspire me, make me laugh, make me think and help me improve my life. My mandala/star circles came about after a friend asked me to make some 'hex signs' for her new backyard fence. Those first seven were just geometric designs with no particular meaning or reason other than looking pretty and livening up the fence . Afterward it occurred to me to make circular paintings blending the geometric balance , the concentric layout of the mandala and some spiritual or meaningful theme / idea/ feeling/ totem......of course I am compelled to paint in bright, wild colors and patterns ~ it's what makes me happy !

I used to make these signs , magnets and paintings for myself and for gifts. I started offering my work at my women's retreat, in the hopes of covering the camp fees and I have slowing but surely been morphing into that being my sole means of support. I sell at craft fairs ( mostly in Ashland , OR. "on the creek" with Lithia Artisans Market, Spring through Fall and Holiday indoor markets) And for the last few years I have been working at creating my Etsy store ( still a work in progress) I find it a challenge to do the business side of things , would much rather just be in my shop painting.
